This design began with a taped layout.

It began with a taped red guideline and a rough idea of an image I wanted to create on this bedroom wall. Initially a base layer of acrylic paint was applied directly to the wall with a brush.
A combination of brush and palette knife is used to apply the acrylic paint directly to the wall.
Multiple layers of rich colors are added over several days to create the desired landscape and textural effect.
A glass-free black wooden frame was added to the painting.

The 3D plastic dragon silhouettes were placed on the wall using adhesive tape to help create an added dimensional quality. Now the dragons appear to be escaping this fantasy land by flying out of the frame and into reality.
